The main focal point on the Dolpa Region trek is the Shey Phoksundo National Park. It is situated in a corner of Nepal. Tourists mostly trek in this area if they want a real thrill of the various wonderful landscapes, culture and the wonderful people living in the Dolpa region.

The dolpa trekking was opened in 1989 and it can’t be matched with any other trekking destinations in Nepal as it is combination of pristine beauty and the charm that we get once we are in this trek. The people are very much unexplored and their life revolves in the herds of Yaks, the small terrace farming of barleys and the monasteries where the Buddhism is followed. The people living are mostly of the Tibetan origin and they only speak slight different language than Tibetan.

Though the altitude where the dolpa region lies is very high where the trekking trails start from 1650m (5412ft) to 5136m (16846ft) from the sea level, you will feel it a lot different from any other trekking destinations of the similar altitude trails. It is situated in the rain shadowed side of the Himalayas which shows the dramatic views of the sceneries. In this region, you cannot expect to see the lush green fields, but you see thrilling landscapes which look like they have been guarded by the wonderful peaks which seem to look like piercing the heaven.

In this region, you come across the wonderful Shey Phoksundo National Park which is a wonderland inhabitant of a lot of animals which could only be found on very high altitudes. The type of flora, fauna and birds that you see over in this place feels you make worth coming down to Nepal and makes you come back again and again.
