Everest Base Camp Trekking: 14 Days

Everest base camp trekking is one of the most renowned and exiting trekking experience that you can get in the entire world. It is the destination which leads you to the foot of the highest mountain of the world, Mount Everest. It is in the northern area of Nepal, which provides you the breath taking scenery of the range of Himalayas.

To begin the Everest base camp trekking, you have to reach the Lukla Airport from Kathmandu. It is nearly a half an hour flight which starts the excitement by the breath taking views of the mountain range during the flight. The first day of trekking starts on the foot trail of the Dudhkoshi river and the same day you will be crossing the forest of Rhododendron, monasteries and villages. The second day you will reach Namche Bazaar which is the gateway to Everest. This is the stop where the trekkers stay for resting, purchasing goods and also the museums which are there. It also has several internet cafes, pizza houses and also the bakeries.

The trekking starts from Namche bazaar to a high traversing path and reach Tyangboche,  which is an old Buddhist monastery which is on a ridge top in the Khumjung village community, situated at a height of 3,867m. This monastery is also known as Dawa Choling Gompa. The same day you will be at Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorak Shep. From Gorak Shep, you will be visiting the Everest Base Camp and reach the black rocks which is called Kala Patthar. Kala Patthar is at the height of 5,555m.

After visiting the Everest base camp, the foot of the khumbhu ice falls, you will be trekking back to Lukla Airport for a flight back to Kathmandu.

During the trek, you will be able to get to know the wonderful warmth and affection of the Local Sherpa people living in this region, the culture that they follow, the wonderful landscape, the lovely Kala Patthar and the beautiful range of Himalayas.
